15.1HH Percheron x QH
Gelding, Bay. 6 Years Old. Still a little green and will give
anything a try! Great heart, great mind and a fun, happy,
affectionate chap who is truly like a huge lab! He does not really
care for jumping (yet!).. although he looks like a super hunter.
Expressive movements when he is working correctly. Adores trail
riding. Eventually will be an awesome family horse.
No horse can be guaranteed "bombproof", but this horse is as close
as you can get. At only 6 years old, he will be indispensable by the
time he has all of his mileage. A huge character who would likely
excel as a trick horse, parade horse or even drill team. Anything
that involves lots of attention, a variety of work and lots of fun
is just what he needs. He has popped over some cavalettis, he has
been given some basic dressage training and is schooling at training
level right now. Nothing lights his fire more than trail riding
though ... he can tend to put on the brakes when working on the
schooling arena, but needs no encouragement on a trail.
He has never bucked with me, he occasionally will throw a little
flying change into the canter and switch out his leads. This should
disappear as his training continues. He has definitely never taken
off or bolted with me. I have always trail ridden him alone - and
whilst he enjoys a good gallop, he has always stayed with me. A
small half-halt will bring him right back. We have had a pack of
dogs run out to him, several circling his feet and barking
aggressively, a smaller dog actually tried to bite his ankles.
Gibson just stopped dead and waited for me to show him what to do. I
asked him to go forward and although he was anxious, he obediently
did as I asked him. Typically, if he is startled, he will stop and
have a good stare - I will ask him to move forward and he has always
obeyed.
The cutest expression you have ever seen - he is a heart-stealer and
a barn favorite. He is very prone to summer sores - so he needs
additional care with fly control.
Stands for clip, bathing, grooming and farrier. He is very forward
going and loves to trot and canter (but not take off). Definitely
not a fast horse. Super comfortable due to his width. Always looks
scruffy and like he is up to mischief. That is his personality!!
Surprisingly expressive movements. I truly adore this horse - he is
fun and he needs to be in a family environment rather than a
training and rehabilitation facility. He is also very smart .. but
has some of that draft horse stubborness, too. He reminds me of a
pony with his mentality -- he can be exasperating when he is wanting
to play games, but he has a way to win you over with his cute looks,
charm and affection.
No bite or kick in this chap. He is a dominant personality in the
pasture.
This is a horse that will be quiet enough and strong enough for Dad,
fun and forward for Mom, attentive and patient enough for kids!
Although, he is still young and this must be taken into
consideration - he will need more mileage before he is absolutely
dead-broke. Ready to finish your way.
He will only go to an approved home that will adore his cheeky
personality and offer him a loving, caring and permanent home.
Videos and photos available to serious buyers only. Very, very
reluctant sale.
He is up to date with vaccinations and has negative coggins, farrier,
dental and worming.
Can transport within state of Florida. $1.75/Mile.
All of our horses are adopted out with contract that states if the
relationship with the horse does not work out, the horse will be
returned to Horses in Harmony. Our horses welfare will remain
paramount for the rest of their years.

| Horse Description
 |
Wendig is a registered Canadian
Warmblood gelding standing at 16.3hh. Chestnut with a star and
connected stripe with fore and hind socks.
His sire Warkanson is a modern Hanoverian Stallion with excellent
conformation and elegant movement. His world-reknowned bloodlines
give him the genetics to show natural talent for all disciplines.
Warkanson' sire WARKANT earned the prestigious award of "Hanoverian
Stallion Of The Year 2002" due to the outstanding performance of his
offspring at the highest level of dressage.
Warkanson's dam sire, Esprit, became famous through producing many
internationally competitive jumpers (eg. E.T. ridden by Hugo Smith).
Warkanson was imported into Canada in 1998. He is one of only four
stallions in all of Western Canada approved for breeding by the
German Hanoverian Association, the association with the strictest
selection protocol worldwide.
Warkanson's foal inherit his wondeful movement and temperament.
To see more on Warkanson, please visit http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/warkanson.
Wendig has lifetime registrations with the United States Dressage
Federation.
Wendig has been shown dressage, at this time we are uncertain of his
level of training.
Wendig has severe athritis in his front right knee, and xrays show
that he "may" have had a fracture at the back of his knee around 18
months to 2 years ago. It is difficult to tell and we have no
history on Wendig at this time. The athritis is now being maintained
through joint supplements and plenty of turnout. There is bone being
laid down on the lateral exterior of his right front and
consequently, we anticipate his ringbone will get worse.
The vet has suggested that Wendig has around a 2 year upper level
dressage career remaining and after that, perhaps just a trail horse
or basic lesson horse.
He has a wonderful personality, very loving and sweet. He is a big
horse though and as he tends to want lots of hugs and cuddles,
probably is not best suited for a frail or timid owner!!
His feet had been horribly neglected when he arrived at Harmony and
he is scared of the farrier. We did have to mildly sedate him for
his first trim, but this is something we are going to continue on
working with until the shoeing becomes no problem. He is very sore
in the soles of his feet and we plan to rebuild the hoof wall enough
to put shoes on him ... we will be putting on shoes that are built
up higher on one side to combat the bone deposits on the right front
leg.
Wendig was easy to load into the trailer, he loves to be groomed and
bathed. He really is just a huge puppy dog with a personable and fun
character.
He has obviously been well trained for the first few years
of his life (in dressage) and well loved in the past .. it
is very sad that this incredible warmblood with such outstanding
bloodlines should end up at a rescue and rehabilitation facility.
We did try this horse in a western saddle and he was initially very
defensive. He appears to perhaps have unpleasant memories of
being ridden western as he was extremely anxious about this style of
riding. He was ridden out of this and appeared to eventually
relax, obviously preferring to be out on the trail rather than in an
arena. When ridden in dressage - he is better behaved and more
quiet - but he spends the entire time thinking about how to
avoid working. He will stop completely, side pass or walk
backwards to be resistant. This poor behavior under saddle
obviously is directly related to poor training later on during
his career - he is obviously resentful of work.
Our dilemma here at Harmony is that this horse is healthy, up to
weight, up to date on coggins, vaccinations, wormer and shoeing.
This current phase he is going through with the initial re-schooling
is just a case of needing repetition, quiet but firm riding by AN
EXPERIENCED RIDER OR TRAINER. Not because he is dangerous (he
is a puppy dog on the ground) but to give HIM every opportunity to
succeed in life and be happy. I am not looking for anybody to
take him and try a quick fix, harsh or brutal method that might
break his spirit, nor is he available for adoption in order to be
re-sold.
Trainers and Experienced Riders -- if you are looking for a horse
to re-school and keep for yourself, then here is your man. I
must emphasize - NO DEALERS. We WILL check references.
The $2500 asking price has been waived and the approved home can
take Wendig home for just the donation of your choice to our rescue
facility. The only reason we do not wish to spend time
re-schooling Wendig is because we have other horses in dire need of
rescue and rehabilitation. Horses that face slaughter.
Wendig is taking up room at our farm and we no longer classify him
as a 'RESCUE" horse.
Please - first time horse owners, novice riders, dealers ...
please do not set yourself up for disappointment by enquiring about
this horse. Please understand in advance, it is not a personal
thing - our duty is for the welfare of this horse and we have a
specific requirement of his potential home.
This horse will only be adopted out to an exceptional home.
Please
note, we do inspect all prospective foster homes and will ask for
references from your vet, farrier and boarding facility. This is to
ensure the ultimate welfare for our horses for the rest of their
years.
As with all of our "kids" here at Harmony - no horse is ever for
sale through a fault of their own. All proceeds from the sale or
adoption of our horses are directed entirely back to our rescue
horses.
Horse transportation is available for $1.75 per mile within the
state of Florida.

*** ADOPTED***Flint:
5 Year Old Thoroughbred Gelding. Chestnut with two hind socks and a
star and strip. Approx 15hh. Unbroken but we are just starting to
work on breaking him. Extremely sweet, submissive and pretty. He
literally floats when he trots. He moves with power, expression and
lightness.
He recently came to our farm in a
completely unhandled state. We had to introduce him the horse
trailer, to the hose, to grooming, being led into a stall, being
hand walked with a halter and lead shank etc. He has taken every
challenge in a kind, willing and co-operative manner.
He was apparently gelded only 1 year ago.
He was born on, and lived at, the same property his entire life. The
owners had no experience and therefore this horse has not been given
the opportunities he should have. He had not been introduced to
other horses and although he is sweet, he does not understand
boundaries. He just wants to run and play relentlessly.
He has never offered a bite or kick to
anyone or any horse. I believe he will be comparatively easy to
break as he does have such a kind temperament and an eagerness to
please. He really wants to be a good boy. Due to his late start in
life, he will need an experienced, patient, kind and understanding
person to train him to his full potential. I do believe this young
horse has a lot of sport horse potential.
When you view the videos of him, you will
see at no time does he show aggression, irritation nor any mean
spirit toward the handler. I believe his movement will have even
more elevation - at the time of filming, his feet had not been
trimmed. Understand that in his first video, he will appear quick
and a little out of balance .. remember this is his first experience
in the round pen, we have separated him from Chester (his one
constant) and he does not understand what is going on. We were
waiting on an adoptive family to pick up the horse, but as they have
not yet turned up, we initiated the training and now are
placing Flint up for adoption to an OUTSTANDING, approved home..
Flint has negative coggins, up to date on
vaccinations and wormer. His feet were trimmed on 16 August
2008.
We are maintaining a video diary of
breaking Flint. This will be a great tool for his new family, by
understanding his demeanor, his great attitude to new challenges ..
and also understanding the methods we used to break him gently!

Above: Flint (now named "Oliver" with the show name of
"Thibodaux") with new Mom, Michelle!
ADOPTED! Chester: Approx
20 year old quarter horse gelding. Chestnut with
star and strip. Approx 15.2hh. At this time, this 'perfect
gentleman' is still too emaciated to be ridden. I anticipate that
this horse will be a kind, patient, forgiving babysitter for any
level of rider. Since the first minute, he has never put a foot
wrong. Always polite, gentle, happy to see people, affectionate,
calm and unafraid of any situation. He is worth his weight in gold
(and he DOES need another good 300lbs). He has cribbed his upper
teeth away and the previous owner was not only blissfully unaware
that this poor horse had no teeth, but when he was fed, the food was
not appropriate for a horse of his age and with obvious problems in
chewing and digesting food. In his time with us, he is truly
blossoming. This is the horse that will greet us as we pull into the
driveway, a gentleman who would allow a toddler to hand walk him
without pulling, crowding your space or stepping on you. He LOVES
being groomed and bathed, he walks on a trailer without a moment's
hesitation and is happy to adapt to our new routine. I have not seen
anything upset nor fluster this amazing horse. He really would be a
great trail horse, in my opinion - he is as safe as houses. He was
probably as gorgeous as Flint in his younger, pre-neglected/abused
days - but the lines of stress are visible on his face and around
his eyes. He seems to have some old trauma to his cervical veterbrae.
There is a lump near the crest of his neck. It does not appear to
cause pain, but a new family might want to get that xrayed to make
sure everything is OK with him. He will need several months of
rehabilitation to get back up to weight, have his feet trimmed
(remember, when feet have been neglected a long time, sometimes the
farrier has to come out more frequently and keep trimming until the
healthy new hoof is grown). He will also need additional
supplementation to aid dig estion and also to keep his joints sound
and pain free. He will be a little higher maintenance, but in my
opinion, you cannot put a price on safety and the total enjoyment a
dead broke, quiet and loving horse like this can provide.
Adoption Fee will cover his care and training to date: $500. His
price will go up a little to cover additional medical and
rehabilitation costs incurred in getting him back to full health.
Chester will only go to a wonderful, loving and approved home where he
will get the care that he requires

Below: Bravo (Stallion)

|
15.3hh Holsteiner Mare, (Showtime Lady) 15 Years Old. Imported from Germany and competed as a three-day eventer.
In my opinion, this stunning mare must have been worth at least $50K in her
prime. I can safely assume that due to the devastating injury to her knees, she
must have had a catastrophic fall onto her knees. She has multiple fractures,
which have now fused and limited her mobility. She has ruptured her oblique
carpal extensors and the digital extensor tendons have been ruptured. This
means Diva is unable to dorsal flex. It was pretty bleak. We had her on extensive pain killers and added Neigh-Lox to prevent her insides getting ripped apart with the low dosage bute. She is also on MSM, Glucosamine and Chondroitin. We
also introduced Hydra-RX although this amazing product was really out of our budget at this time.
Regardless of her unthinkable pain (where the kindest thing would have been to sadly euthanize her),
Diva was shipped off to Georgia whereby she was used as a kid's lesson horse.
She was pretty beaten up and very underweight when a rescue group in Georgia
stepped up and removed her from the riding school. Diva was then shipped to
Ocala, and then to another rescue group in Floral City. This particular rescue
group contacted Horses In Harmony and asked us to take her. This poor show horse has been through so much, we agreed. After a vet evaluation, we had to decide whether it
was kinder to euthanize her. At the time, she was in constant pain and bone was literally touching bone. Even if I could get her comfortable,
we did not believe she could really be a broodmare as she would not be able to lie down to have her foal (nor carry the weight of a baby). The decision is a tough one - whether to give this precious mare a second chance at life as either a pasture ornament or a babysitter - or gently hold her as we kindly put her to sleep and stop all the pain.
However, Diva had other plans and wanted to show us she was far from giving up!
A few weeks later, our vet was thrilled with how much improvement
she saw in Diva's knees, and also her happy attitude and ease in rolling,
grazing and playing. We went ahead and vaccinated Diva and decided to keep
her at Horses in Harmony. The vet informed us that Diva was happy, comfortable
and well enough to have her own foal. On her advice, we went ahead and bred Diva
to an amazing Oldenburg Stallion called BRAVO. This fertile girl took the first
time she was artifically inseminated. She was so good, we have never had to
sedate her for insemination nor ensuing ultra-sounds.
Once Diva was happily pregnant, we decided to consider adopting her out to the most wonderful family who could make use of her wonderful, calm disposition and submissive temperament. The family would have to understand that Diva requires supplements, medication and frequent vet visits.
It just so happened that a wonderful family DID approach us. Offering
Diva an experienced, loving and pampered home on their 100 acre farm in Alabama.
The family are so excited to be welcoming Diva into their family - and the foal
will be the future sporthorse partner for their talented and competitive
daughter.
Diva is scheduled to go to her forever home on 14 September 2008.
A fairy tale ending for a special and deserving horse.
Congratulations Diva and The
Gaasch's!

"Carlinia Kim" - 16.1HH, 5 Year
Old, Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare, All the chrome with a perfect blaze
and four high white socks! Quiet and Sweet. This young girl is so
patient, willing to learn and steady that she will probably be
''grandma safe'' by the time she is finished. She would make a very
pretty show-horse or a super broodmare. Will make a lovely dressage
horse, too. Her markings are PERFECT! She has no soundness issues.
This type of mind and eagerness to learn and please makes this doll
worth her weight in gold. Definitely would make a super family horse
A horse as beautiful as Sundance (inside and out) comes along once
in a lifetime. She will definitely give anything the good old
''college try''. She has loaded in my trailer without a problem,
faced a small jump cautiously but willingly. She is Jockey Club
Registered. She was prepped for the racetrack but never ran. We took
her in a trailer, went on a 3 hour trail ride where she was faced
with all types of obstacles that spooked other horses. At no time
did she put a foot wrong, hesitate or spook. She is perfect for the
timid rider, but an experienced rider can push her buttons and bring
out her amazing potential.
This will be a very, VERY, reluctant sale and only to an approved
home. As her training as continued, Sundance has excelled. She is
extremely steady, safe and comfortable. I have had novice riders on
her, and she remains patient and forgiving. She has not spooked at
anything since I have had her, even motorcycles without mufflers on
their exhausts or cars backfiring (she had a rider on her when both
of this situations occured and she did not miss a step). She loves
being groomed and pampered, she stands for vet, farrier, grooming
and bathing. You will never have to guess when she is in heat
because she makes that extremely obvious - but she can still be
ridden and she will pay attention during these times. She is not
marish at ALL! I have never seen this beauty pin her ears.
Absolutely no bite, kick, buck or rear in her. She has never
attempted to bolt either. I cannot say enough about this incredible
horse. She is perfect for any level rider, most disciplines
(although speed is not her greatest asset - she is far too laid back
and relaxed for that!), she will most likely make an exceptional
broodmare. She is one of the calmest youngsters I have ever come
across and extremely quiet to handle. If you have been holding out
for your dreamhorse, Sundance is probably the answer!
She is up to date on her vaccinations with negative coggins, dental,
farrier and worming.
Can transport within the state of Florida at the rate of $1.75/Mile.
Will only sell Sundance to the perfect home, where she will be
guaranteed love, excellent care and attention. Videos and photos
available for serious buyers only. Sundance is sold with a contract
that states if the relationship with the horse does not work out,
the horse will be sold back to Horses in Harmony. Sundance's welfare
will remain paramount for the rest of her years. For more
information, photos and video, please email!
Photos and video available at www.DevonBelanger.com/catalog.htm
May consider payment plan (after pulling credit check) or will
definitely consider a trade of EQUAL VALUE for a purebred andalusian
or friesian. Sundance needs to be in a hunter/jumper home .. so if
any hunter/jumpers are stuck with a great dressage horse that does
not want to jump ...let's talk!

Roxie is a very pretty, 8 year old, Holsteiner x Thoroughbred Mare.
Standing at an elegant 16hh. She has jumped 2'6" courses, has schooled cross
country a few times in 2008 and has also shown. Roxie had a year off due
to the owner's pregnancy and is now in professional dressage training at
Horses in Harmony. She has a
great personality, no vices, not marish at all. Due to the incredible
progress Roxie has made with only 30 days dressage training on her, it is very
obvious that Roxie LOVES dressage and this is where she is most happy and
relaxed. She looks forward to being caught, tacked up and schooled.
Her ideal home would be for somebody that gets enormous enjoyment from being
with horse, especially sharing quiet time together. A person who enjoys
dressage and perhaps does not have aspirations of doing FEI. I think Roxie
would also made a wonderful broodmare at some time in her life. This is a
lot of warmblood, a huge heart, a sweet mind, a loving personality, a gorgeous
but sensitive horse for a very, very low price. I would not recommend
Roxie for a beginner or nervous rider. Although Roxie is kind, safe and
forgiving .. she requires a more confident but QUIET rider with light hands and
seat and enough experience to ride in a way to continue to build Roxie's
confidence. Once this mare has bonded with and trusts her human, I believe
this horse will be even more incredible. She gives her all and she needs a
person who knows enough to appreciate that. This is a horse that will bond
with you forever, and preference is given to a person offering a lifetime home
for her.
Devon's Feedback: "Roxie
is a super horse with a really great work ethic. She loves to learn and
and WANTS to learn. She is a pleasure to train. I don't believe she
could go higher than 2nd Level (perhaps 3rd level) at schooling shows ..
however, for someone looking for a wonderful partner that needs a horse that can
be patient and forgiving, whilst still sensitive and forward going, then Roxie
would be great. Roxie is also a babydoll on the ground. She loves
the attention and is all girl .. .loves her spa treatments and lives for the
hugs and kisses. She has been looking forward to her schooling sessions.
She will start off a little tense .. and this has very quickly become a non-issue.
When I say "tense", I mean that she will have shorter and choppier paces ..
rather than the longer and more languid strides we would like to see in our
dressage horses during the warm up/relaxation stage. However, she does not
run away, bolt, buck or nap. She needs a quiet rider with a quiet hand,
leg and seat and she will relax very quickly. The same in her trot (which,
by the way, is very comfortable) ... she will start off behind the leg and
very short in her strides .. but once she gains confidence in you, her strides
will get longer and her back will relax. Within 4 sessions, I had her
lower her croup, free up her shoulders and give me a decent lengthening at the
trot. She is a serious worker, too .. (has to be the Holsteiner in her!)
.. once she gets busy, she gets very into her schooling session and gives
everything she has. She responds to the lightest of seat and leg aids for
lateral work .. her movement and topline have dramatically improved with her
professional
dressage training. Roxie has been with her current owner for 3 years.
This is a reluctant sale and only due to the owner's lack of time. The
more the owner is seeing how incredibly Roxie is responding to dressage
training, the harder the decision is to let her go. Roxie's price will
continue to increase the longer she stays in professional training. More videos
to follow as her training progresses. Note that Roxie is not registered.
Roxie is up to date with wormer, vaccinations, farrier and has a current
negative coggins... if I did not have so many of my own horses, I would buy
Roxie myself .. her heart, mind and trust in me has been very inspiring. I
ALWAYS look forward to our training sessions together. She is a peach!"

Athena
has had 6 months professional training at my facility. She is 11 months old and
currently standing a good 14hh. She stands for farrier, bathing, grooming, vet
and she x-ties with no problem. She loads in the trailer. She is very easy to
handle and she loves her grooming sessions. She has been desensitized to
blankets and even the feel of a lightweight, child's saddle placed on her. This
filly is unflappable and has an incredible ground training foundation. Her
maturity and ease of handling leads people to believe she is an adult pony, not
a young filly. She is also up to date on all vaccinations, wormer, farrier and
has a current negative coggins. She is ready for immediate adoption.
She should mature close to 16hh. It is my opinion that if this filly was taken
to the American Warmblood Society inspection, she would get a fairly decent
score and could possibly be registered AWS. *** Update on Saturday 9 May
2009 - Athena attended the American Warmblood Inspection and earned herself RED
PREFERRED STATUS. She is now a registered warmblood mare and has a
branding certificate. She is eligible for breeding and AWS medals *** The video will show her incredible sporthorse potential .. she has natural elevation, suspension and extension.
A very charismatic young filly to watch. She is brave, curious, sweet,
gentle, sane, sound and shows herself to have amazing potential. Details
of her dam and sire can be provided to the new owner. She could also be
registered with the Performance Horse Registry. This little filly has substance
without looking too drafty. She is very warmblood-like in build and stature.
She definitely is sporthorse potential but has such a quiet and mature outlook
that I am sure she could be equally happy as somebody's best friend and trail
buddy. Much hard work and expertise has gone into her ground training and I
believe she will be extremely easy to break. She is brave, too .. she is
definitely not a pushover in the pasture and although she is not mean, she is
boss filly (over my fully grown horses!). To be honest, the mature horses
let her boss them around .. but it is cute to see her! strutting her stuff and
believing she is alpha mare.

Pictured Above: Bente D (Sire to her foal) |
15.3hh
Thoroughbred x Morgan mare, liver chestnut. 4 Years Old. A beautiful
horse who is very dainty and refined. Looks to die for and a natural
jump - this one is going to be an awesome dressage, hunter or show
jumper in the next phase of her career. She is definitely a "ladies"
horse. Extremely elegant. This beauty needs an Intermediate to
Advanced rider (jumping or dressage) to truly shine. Highly
intelligent, sensitive to the aids and very willing to please. Fast,
careful and bold. Because of the natural jumping talent this girl,
she must be started out correctly, quietly and gently. Only a
loving, experienced home will be considered for this super mare.
Tuesday is confirmed in foal to Bente D - a world class friesian
stallion.
Tuesday
is showing huge potential for dressage. She is going beautifully and
she appears to really enjoy her dressage work. Very light in
the hand, supple, loose, balanced, rhythmic and with wonderful
charisma. I will start showing Tuesday this season.
Stay tuned for updated videos and photos of this special girl. In
addition to working under saddle on a regular basis, we have been
consistently working on her ground manners and desensitization. She
stands quietly for bathing, grooming, farrier and vet. She does not
like to be x-tied, but she is tolerant of it now. She
has walked on heavy duty tarp, stood next to a truck with the diesel
engine running, music blaring and horn blasting - it did not phase
her. We waved objects in her face and rustled plastic bags all over
her - no problem. She will take the hose from you and hold it in her
mouth to drink!! A huge personality on this girl. She is boss mare
in the pasture. She has also been trained to come straight from the
pasture into her stall without requiring a lead rope.
When this beauty has the show mileage, she will be priceless! If you
are looking for a super, sweet, affectionate, beautiful and talented
mare to finish in your discipline, then Tuesday is your girl.
Although
this mare is fairly small for dressage, I feel that she has upper
level potential with the correct training. Tuesday went to her
first schooling show on 3 January 2008 and the judges really loved
her looks and her movement. She earned a respectable 61.500%
in Intro Level, despite her first show nerves!
Extremely easy to catch - just call her name and she comes straight
to the gate. She is up to date on all vaccinations with negative
coggins, farrier, dental and worming.
Can transport within state of Florida. $1.75/Mile

TROOPER ---- ADOPTED!
Congratulations to Laura Bostic of Groveland,
Florida. Laura adopted our special boy, Trooper, as a babysitter for her 5
year old, unbroken AQHA mare, Carbon Copy aka "CC". Laura has a fantastic
set up on her property --- the horses have acres of gorgeous grass, safe
fencing, a well thought out barn that is light, well-ventilated and safe.
The horses can go out in the pasture or hang out in their stalls as they please.
Mom can watch them from the house. It is the most wonderful set up for
lucky "kids", Trooper and CC. Trooper has instantly adapted to his role of
being the kind, well-mannered, patient and gentle professor that CC will need to
gain confidence. He is immensely proud of his new "job". I could not
have wished for a happier ending to Trooper's tale .. and to all of his "fans"
and well-wishers, know that Laura will love him and pamper him for the rest of
his years. He deserves it. Laura has promised to send updated photos
to add to "Troopers Page" for us all.
Wishing Laura, Trooper and CC nothing but total happiness for many, many years
to come!
Trooper is
ready to be adopted out to an approved home only. He is up to date on
wormer, vaccinations, farrier and has his negative coggins. Trooper is
the most loving, gentle, sweet and kind horse you could hope to meet.
He is advanced in his years and we estimate he is around 23 years old.
I think he is around 14.2hh, but I have not officially measured him, he
could be smaller. We believe he may be an appendix quarter horse.
He would
make a great babysitter or maybe even a WALK leadline first pony for a small
child. Trooper has been diagnosed with a heart murmur that is at a
Scale 4, so he is not suitable for anything more than a light walk with a
small child on occasion. He is very good with other horses and he has
never offered a bite or kick to any of our horses. On the flip side,
he would be easily bullied by a dominant horse. If you need a quiet
babysitter for your horse, or perhaps you just have a lot of love to give
this rehabilitated horse who have suffered unthinkable neglect and
starvation ... it is our dream to find him a special person to make his
golden years wonderful. He would also be a super, therapeutic horse
who is gentle enough to allow the most novice of horse-lovers groom him and
pet him. Please read his full story .. click
HERE.
Trooper is available for FREE permanent adoption to an approved, local home.
Please
note, we do inspect all prospective foster homes and will ask for
references from your vet, farrier, boarding facility or other equine
related PROFESSIONAL. This is to
ensure the ultimate welfare for our horses for the rest of their
years. We do not 'GET RID OF..." nor 'GIVE AWAY" our horses.
This is why there is an adoption process in place.
PLEASE DO
NOT TURN UP WITH YOUR TRAILER THINKING YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE HOME A
"FREE" HORSE. YOU WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND YOUR FUEL.
As with all of our "kids" here at Harmony - no horse is ever for
sale through a fault of their own. All proceeds from the sale or
adoption of our horses are directed entirely back to our rescue
horses.
Horse transportation is available for $1.75 per mile within the
state of Florida.

$1,500 FOR IMMEDIATE SALE TO APPROVED HOME!
SOLD ON 3/24/2009 - Congratulations, Lettie of Palm City,
Florida .. Happy Trails!
Dakota only arrived at Harmony on Saturday 21 March 2009
so we do not have video or full body photos of this
flashy gelding with chrome! He trailered well. I only
had the chance to watch him work in the round pen and
then lunge him. He was fine with both. He went out on
a trail ride and did not spook at anything. He has been
started both english and western (not at Harmony) and he
is ready to finish your way. Great prospect for
somebody who wants a great looking and sound young
horse. Dakota is around 5.5 years old. Apparently, he
has had some Parelli training, but I would say that this
was not obvious to me. He seems happier going western,
therefore my western trainer will work with him until he
is sold. He is up to weight, up to date with
vaccinations, farrier and worming. Has the potential to
be a great Western PlayDay horse .. or 4-H. My western
trainer feels he has a nice build for a barrel racing
prospect but cannot confirm until she has worked with
him. Videos and photos to follow - his price will
increase with training - so if you are looking for a
great prospect and you have the experience to bring him
along .. come and get him today before his training
commences. As soon as we learn more about this cute
little gelding, I will post the information. As he has
just arrived, I put together a little slideshow of his
photos!

14 ‘ 3 hand Breeding Stock Paint mare. Skye is 22 years
young. Dark Bay with 4 white socks, blaze, and a blue eye.
Skye has shown hunter/jumper, dressage, and up to training
level in 3 day eventing. She is not for a beginner (although
my daughter who is now 18 purchased and learned on her when
she was 9, and we pony ride toddlers on her). Skye loves
trail rides alone or with a group. She stands perfect for
the farrier, and vet, loads, ties, bathes, and clips. We
retired Skye from her show career last year due to her age.
She had a long wonderful show life and is now ready to just
enjoy herself. Skye will lure visitors and children to her
by smiling and bowing for treats! With regard to Skye
not being suitable for beginners, the reason being that Skye is a very kind
quiet horse, BUT she can be very strong at times. She would never hurt
someone on purpose, but she will try to get away with things if your not firm
with her. She never once tried to kick, buck, rear or hurt my daughter in any
way, and whenever my daughter (as a youngster) would lose her balance Skye would
adjust herself so she would not fall off. I trusted my daughters life with this
horse, and they have a very strong bond.

HORSE NAME: VEGAS
9 Year Old Chestnut
Pony Mare
Price: $3500
Cute head and put together well. Picks up her leads and
learning changes, very easy to ride, very honest to the jumps.
Jumping around 18 - 2' courses and learning very fast. Nice form
O/F, smooth gaits and good attitude. Will show in 2008.
The owner has added: "Vegas
has been hanging out here all summer and mainly trail riding-which
it turns out she is fantastic at, goes over anything and anywhere.
She was at our English barn for about 4 months and if you can tell
by the video she does her full changes. I have told people she is
not for a beginner rider that wants to jump because she can get
fast. She has never bucked or ran off with anyone, just can take 10
minutes to slow down some days. Has been sound the entire time we
have had her, good for farrier, up to date on all vaccines and
deworming, ties, loads, etc. She does dance around for fly spray
but the more you do it the better she is. We do not feed her, she
stays fat on grass ..."

| Horse Description |
Standing Ovation, aka Ally, is
talented, drop-dead gorgeous, and has impeccable conformation. She
has proven herself worthy of blue in the show ring. Her passion is
English pleasure, halter and beginning dressage. In addition to the
English show ring, she is great on trails, and, if western is your
passion, she neck reins and has a fabulous jog. Ally is an easy
keeper, and has great ground manners; she can be handled by anyone,
although I would recommend an intermediate or an advanced rider for
her. All in all she has been a fabulous horse, I am changing
disciplines. She is not shod, has great feet. She is UTD. Never been
raced. I am looking for a good home for her and a new owner who will
love her as much as we do. I feel she is priced fairly. Call me for

DISTRESS SELL .... OWNER HAS REDUCED PRICE BY
$6500 FOR IMMEDIATE SALE ... THROUGH NO FAULT OF HIS OWN!
Registered (?) Welsh Section A gelding, approximately 11hh, 7
years old. Chocolate palomino. Adorable
personality, safe, sane, sweet, kind, gentle and adores kids and
attention. Has been standing for 8 months with no riding.
He is not looking too pretty right now, but Team Harmony will get to
work! He was fully vaccinatied, feet trimmed and coggins
pulled on 16 February 2009. We put him under saddle on 10
February 2009 for the first time with us, with one of my young
riders, and he was a total gentleman. He appears to have been
beautifully trained at one time. He is forward going without
pacing or rushing, he is soft in the mouth (unusual for a pony) and
very, very patient and well behaved. We have a video of him
riding with a more advanced junior rider, then followed by a younger
and more novice rider. He was perfect for both riders and
adjusted his attitude to be appropriate for the different levels of
riders.
Owner paid $7500 for him. I am waiting for details of his
registration name and show history. I was informed he was in the
ribbons at Rocking Horse in Altoona in 2006 and 2007 (perhaps
under the name of Snickers?) Owner is not able to provide
much more information at this time due to personal emergency.
Everything is an educated guess at this time on my part. I
have temporarily named him Reeses :-)
Serious offers over $1K considered to approved home only.
Please pass on to your pony loving friends who may be in the market
for a stunning, well-trained kids pony. This pony needs love,
attention and he really enjoyed working. Would love to see him
go to a home with experienced adults with enthusiastic kids!
Would really make an excellent show pony - when he stands still - he
does not fidget, he just stands proudly and patiently.
We are all totally in love with the little chap after only a couple
of days of getting to know him - he has a personality twice the size
of his little body. There will definitely be a huge void in
our barn when he finds the most wonderful, FOREVER home that is 100%
approved by Harmony. This is a very, very special little pony
that has sadly been going to waste for the past year.
The last part of the video got chopped off -sorry. His coat
looks funky but actually, we had just bathed him and it was taking a
year and a day to dry.
My student is coming
back out to ride him and perhaps pop him over a few jumps. We
will provide as many videos as possible in order to show him to the
best of his ability in his current, unconditioned state!

HORSE NAME: Uptown Gyrl aka Madison 9 Yr
Old, 15.2hh Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare

Price: $FREE ADOPTION TO APPROVED HOME
... ADOPTED! Congratulations Hali Beyer of Millington,
Tennessee!

to watch this amazing, athletic mare run
free!
Madison will make an excellent
broodmare prospect. This sweet, affectionate and beautiful mare has
bone chips in her knees. We are maintaining her comfort with
Hyla RX supplements. Madison has been trained to Training
Level dressage but lateral movements that are required beyond
Training 4 exacerbated the bone chips and made Madison fairly
uncomfortable.
Madison is very sensitive to her
surroundings and the people around her. She is very docile and
submissive with other horses. We would prefer to find her a
loving, permanent and knowledgeable home as a broodmare, rather than
a riding horse. However, Madison is sound and can be ridden by
a highly competent, experienced, sensitive and quiet rider. I would
love to place her in a home where natural horsemanship is practiced.
If you are interested in
breeding your own sport horse prospect, for example, you could breed
Madison to a Hanoverian stallion. The baby would then be
eligible to be registered Hanoverian and more than likely, Madison
would be entered into the Main Mare Book, too. The baby would
also possibly be eligible for American Warmblood Society and
Performance Horse Registry.
This horse is NOT suitable for
novice horse owners as she can get tense. As long as her
handler is quiet, confident and gentle - then Madison will respond
in kind. I had great success with calming Madison down to the point
where she appeared to be totally bombproof. This required
daily, experienced handling and desensitization activities.
Madison had been adopted but as the foster person was a more novice
horse owner - it was not a good relationship for either Madison nor
the adoptive person.
Therefore, it was mutually
agreed to find a more suitable home for this gorgeous horse.
Madison has head-turning looks and incredibly expressive and
powerful movement. We will be taking video of Madison this
week - please bookmark this page and come back soon to view her
video!
Madison is up to date on
worming, vaccinations, farrier etc and has proof of her negative
coggins. We also have her registration papers and xrays from
2002 and 2004.
This horse will only be adopted out to an exceptional home.
No children and no people looking for their "first" horse, PLEASE!
Please
note, we do inspect all prospective foster homes and will ask for
references from your vet, farrier, boarding facility or other equine
related PROFESSIONAL. This is to
ensure the ultimate welfare for our horses for the rest of their

| Horse Description
|
Tinman is a
wonderful semi-retired show horse. Standing at 16.1hh, this
grey (almost pure white) appendix quarter horse is looking for his
forever home. An exceptional hunter/jumper who was always in
the ribbons. He is extremely sweet and kind. Comes with
his own monogrammed accessories!! He is getting a little older
now, so would suit somebody who is looking for a kind, schoolmaster
type but who does not want to be jumping as often.
He
knows his job, but it is kinder at this stage of his life to
concentrate more on flatwork (perhaps lower level dressage) or trail
riding. He has been a very pampered show-horse (previous owner
has lifesize portrait of him and a stained glass window in her house
of him!!!) and has
competed very successfully in the past. However, he has also
been abused in the past by allegedly "top" trainers and riders who were so
results-driven that they have lost their temper and beaten this
horse very badly. Even though this horse is so sweet and
forgiving, you will not readily see the signs of this trauma and
abuse. It is extremely important that I find TinMan a home
where he will be treated with respect, love and kindness. He
has a big heart, great training and a kind soul. I will not
adopt him out to a heavy competition home where he will once again
be pushed beyond his physical and emotional limits. He is OK
to do lower level shows on occasion (maybe once a month?), but
definitely not weekly. This horse can give somebody the
confidence and a little show mileage.
He
is a total sweetie! He loaded in my trailer, strolled off cool
as a cucumber! Sauntered over to my wash rack where he enjoyed
being rinsed off. He settled in within SECONDS of his arrival
as if he has lived with us forever. Extremely soft eyes, a
cute face ..pure white! He is completely up to date on
vaccinations, wormer and coggins. Last farrier date: 19
December 2008. He is eligible to be registered, but his
previous owner simply chose not to.
He
has not been ridden much in the past couple of years (which is good
really - it keeps them sounder to have breaks from work). He
will need re-conditioning to strengthen his topline and muscles.
He is a very healthy weight, personable and well-behaved. We sat on
Tinman for the first time and he was an absolute gentleman. He
gave the impression of a kind soul who carefully walked along whilst
checking that his rider was safe and happy.
He
LOVES to be groomed and pampered! I gave Tinman a FULL body
clip on 22 December 2008 and he was PERFECT. Patient and kind.
He stood like an obedient statue as I clipped every part of him.
He never once got impatient or bad-tempered. This horse really
is worth his weight in gold and has obviously been very much loved
in the past. I would love to find him the same kind of home that he
has been used to. I adore him .. I wish I could keep him!
As with all of our horses - the home
is paramount. TinMan will only be adopted out to an
approved, loving, experienced and PERMANENT home.
An opportunity such as this does not come about
every day. Photos and video will be avaialble shortly.
Can transport within state of Florida. $1.75/Mile

| Horse Description
|
Adonis is aptly
named. He truly is like a Greek God. He is a "drop dead"
gorgeous, 16.1hh, solid liver chestnut gelding. He is
registered (with papers) Paint/Quarter Horse. He is very
well-muscled with a baby doll face and cute little ears. A
jaw-droppingly beautiful horse. This 12 year old gelding was competing
in lower level dressage with his 70 year old rider. As a
dressage trainer, I will tell you he is not built for dressage, nor
does he respond as if he has been trained in classical dressage.
Perhaps he has been trained in a "western" version of dressage? He is also
good on trails. His FULL BROTHER
is a WORLD CHAMPION Halter
horse.
Adonis's
sire is
Quincy Bar Bonanza
(APHA),
Halter point earner, Sire of World Champion, Youth Versatility,
Superior Halter & Performance, etc.
His
dam is QUINCY'S QUINTESSA ..
See bloodlines below
Adonis (as the name might suggest) LOVES to be
pampered. He is quite the little Prince. He does not
care for rain and will put his own P.J.'s on if you let him.
So, he would not do well with 24 hour turnout/pasture board as he
loves his comfort far too much! If you are one of those owners
that wants a horse that acts like your pet dog, here is your boy!
You can pamper him, groom him, dress him up, hang out with him... he
cannot get enough loving!
Well-schooled, sound, healthy and
ready to work. I would like to see this horse go to a home
where he will fit more easily into a discipline appropriate for his
breeding and bloodlines. Perhaps halter, western pleasure or
trail riding. If
you are interested in halter classes, I have no doubt he would love
that and excel .. especially as his full brother is a world
champion!
He prefers a rider with a quiet seat
and a quiet hand, so therefore a complete beginner or "husband
horse" is not going to be an ideal match. An "advanced
beginner" and up would be suitable. He is very, very
sensitive under saddle .. your leg must be quiet, your seat deep and
quiet and a soft but steady rein contact required. He is
forward going and does not need constant nagging to move on.
For an intermediate/advanced rider - this energy and power is
wonderful. To a novice, the size (both tall and wide)
and obvious power combined with the reaction to the lightest of aids
will be intimidating.
He
has been trained dressage but he does not have the conformation or
the gaits for proceeding up the levels. He is beautiful and
correct - but most definitely the old-fashioned quarter horse look
with the larger body, shorter legs and consequently, a shorter
stride. He lunges well without the need of a lunge whip.
Like Tinman, he calmly walked on my
trailer, happy as you please! He walked off the trailer..
stood to pose and show everybody just how stunning he was (he did
get the "oohs" and the "aahs" that he expected!! He cheerfully
walked over to the wash rack, enjoyed a quick bath and stood like a
well-behaved statue. He also settled in within seconds as if
our farm had been his home forever. He will be another one
that I doubt will cause issues on trail rides or at showgrounds --
he might puff up and preen a little so everybody can admire him ..
but he has been STEADY EDDIE so far!
He is up to date with vaccinations,
wormer, coggins etc. Last farrier was 19 December 2008.
He is also an easy keeper -- it is obvious he is not starving to
death. If you love that halter horse look -- big and muscled
with dainty quarter horse legs and the cute little dished face ...
you will hear choirs of angels when you see Adonis.
He will not be with us long -- he is
just too incredible!
As with all of our horses - the home
is paramount. Adonis will only be sold to an
approved, loving, experienced and PERMANENT home.
An opportunity such as this does not come about
every day.

Listed for adoption on behalf of
the owner.
Here is Star's story! When the owners of the home purchased
their house in Longwood, Florida, several years ago, the pony was
left with the home! Star was so very sweet and gentle that the
owners fell in love with her and agreed to keep her. They are
not horse people at all - but Star captured their hearts. The
owners said they had ridden Star several times a few years ago, but
again, not being horse people, they have not done anything else with
her. She lived happily in their back yard as a very gentle,
sweet and loving pasture ornament. The owners now have to move
and there is no way they can take this precious pony with them.
They are desperate to find a loving home to adopt Star.
We really are praying for one special person to step forward for
Star. We know it will not be easy to place her as she is a
golden oldie in her mid to late 20s. She is healthy, bright
eyed, alert and curious. She is completely up to date on
coggins, vaccinations, wormer, farrier etc. Here is the other
doozie .. Star suffers from Cushings. This is being controlled
by a prescribed medication, but I will be brutally honest .. the
medication runs to $100 per month. :-(
I drove out to take these pictures of Star and I fell in love.
She has the biggest, softest eyes and she immediately came over to
me to give me love. She is so affectionate and gentle. She
warmed my heart instantly and I wished I had room left at my farm to
take her.
She may be an older girl who requires medication, but she has
something very special. A soft, wise, gentle and kind heart.
I picture her (as I do with Trooper listed below) bringing such joy
and happiness to a young child wishing to have their own pony to
pamper, love and gently ride around at a walk. Or,
alternatively, she would be incredible to trailer around to hospices
and homes for people needing inspiration, hope and unconditional
love.
Like fine wine, horses can get better with time! If you
have room at your farm - please consider opening your heart to this
very special mare. One look in her huge eyes and you will fall
in love. Give this one a chance before it is too late.
The owners must move and this beauty has no place to go! She
desperately needs you TODAY!
Please contact the owner directly: SUE at

|
Lovely Arabian mare offered for
sale to a great home, located in Eustis, Fl.
Delilah's Registration
number is 0508129 and her registered name is Queen Nefrtiti, she
turned 15 years old on 9/15/08.
Priced to sell at just $750.
(Reduced to $500 on 25 March 2009)
Delilah would make someone a wonderful and fun trail horse.
Although she has experience as a dressage horse from years past and
has been a member of an Arabian Costumed Drill Team, truthfully
she's burned out on the constant arena work and is GREAT on trails.
Not spooky, is forward and likes to be in front, even in new
places. This mare secretly wishes she was a CTR or endurance
horse! She loads, clips, ties, and has perfect ground manners all
around.
Delilah is about 14.2H, is
chestnut with a star. She has a big, floaty trot and a rocking
horse canter. But Delilah is not for beginners. She's sweet and
gentle, but prefers her rider to know as much as she does! The
perfect rider for Delilah will enjoy a horse who likes to be told
what to do; Delilah likes to be directed by her rider and does not
want to be in charge; she wants YOU to have that job. So an
intermediate or above rider who is experienced, well schooled in the
art of riding and enjoys a smart horse who is fun to work with would
be the perfect match.
Delilah has never been bred, has nice legs, big round feet and a
broad back. She's an easy keeper and UTD on vaccines, dentistry,
farrier and Coggins. She's located at the Diamond P Ranch in
Eustis, Florida and is priced to sell at just $750.
Her adult owner will also consider a trade for an older stock horse
who has the patience to teach a beginner how to ride. If you know
of any kids who have outgrown their mount and want to step up to
something a bit more fun and challenging, her owner needs a quiet,
dead-head type of beginner horse. She truly loves Delilah, but is
just over-horsed and cannot learn to ride on Delilah. This is a
case of a match that didn't work out. There is nothing in the world
wrong with this horse, it was just the wrong horse to buy as a first
horse for this total beginner owner. So if any of you know of a
possible trade or even a lease, all options will be considered.
Please contact me either by phone or email.

(She had only just started professional training when this was filmed, her
canter is not yet established)
Ana is a beautiful , solid chestnut, 4 year old mare
out of Relevant. She has her passport, microchip and
is registered with the Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society Department
North America.
Ana is still green had been working with walk-trot under saddle with
her owner.
Free lunges in a round pen, does well on trail riding, takes bridle,
falls asleep when getting feet done. Great disposition, very kind
and loving.
Seller motivated to sell due to relocation.
Ana will be undergoing professional dressage training at Horses In Harmony as of
1 March 2009. Her price will increase drastically as her training
increases! Videos and more photos son available.
Update on 9 March 2009: Ana has been doing incredibly well and really
enjoys her schooling sessions. She has proven herself a good "student"
both in the round pen, on the lunge and under saddle. I have been working
on her going forward in walk and trot ... she has a very floating, lofty trot.
I started her canter work today and she was absolutely fine and perfectly
relaxed in the canter. I will take video on March 10, 2009 of her work
under saddle. This horse is such a wonderful prospect for any level of
dressage rider from the Junior Rider, Adult Amateur through to the Advanced FEI
rider looking for a talented prospect for the future. With athletic gaits,
a quiet and gentle temperament both on the ground and under saddle, a great work
ethic and exceptionally fast to learn. She has been desensitized to many
obstacles and horse-eating monsters already. She has really been
unflappable since coming to our facility. She adores her attention,
grooming, baths and work. She is consistently quiet, affectionate, kind
and gentle. She has never offered a bite, kick nor pinned ears (even at
feeding time). She is the alpha mare in the pasture. She is up to
date on vaccinations, wormer and farrier. She has a current negative
coggins. Due to her being turned away for the past 8 months, Ana has lost
quite a bit of muscle and weight. At this time, I would say she needs a
good 100lbs (we are working on it) and really needs to improve her muscle.
I will continue to work on this through logical, systematic and progressive
gymnasticizing. The reason that Ana is so inexpensive is twofold.
Firstly, the owner's relocation out of state, and secondly, she does have
a blemish on her hind left thigh. Although it does not affect her movement
nor soundness, it is a noticeable blemish, none the less. It will not
affect her career as a sport horse or broodmare. Ana is an exquisite young
horse with impeccable bloodlines, a beautiful face with large, soft eyes and a
correct and fluid movement. She truly is a wonderful opportunity for a
lucky person out there. She is for sale through no fault of her own to an
approved, loving, experienced and permanent home. NO DEALERS - PERIOD.

It took a little longer for Blue to come around, but it was SO worth the
wait! She is smart, cautious, sweet and "melt in your ariats" cute!
This will be one loyal girl when she is older. Once she has bonded
with her person, that will be a lifetime bond. This beauty is also the
personal favorite of our barn manager! When she has lost her
baby/winter coat, she will be absolutely striking. She really enjoys the
attention, even if she makes you work for her approval initially! We
would love to see Blue go to an experienced home where somebody can bring
out all that this mare has to give. She is very special! Blue
had her feet trimmed on 19 December 2008. She was extremely
well-behaved and quiet for the farrier. Our little, opinionated
"madam" has turned around to be the most willing, easy to handle and super
sweet fillies you can imagine. Within the very short space of 7
weeks, she has come around and blossomed. She is our pride and joy!
Stand by for video taken on 19 December 2008. All props go to our
manager who specializes in training the babies!

Below are pictures of Flame's Sire:

Above Left: Flame's sire is a grade Quarter Horse Stallion, Bay in
color, is 15.2 hh and weighs approximately 1300 lbs. It has been
guaranteed that no matter what type of mare he is bred to, he will throw
a foal that has good conformation, good nature and an abundance of
common sense. He throws very people-oriented horses.
Above Right: Flame with his dam.
Flame is instantly a barn favorite. He is extremely brave and
trusting. On the second day, he allowed me to fully groom him and he LOVED
it. He could not get enough of this new human touch and if he could
have snuggled up in my lap, he would have done. He let me pick up his
feet, brush his mane and tail (the tail was knotted so badly it took a
good 30 minutes to gently tease out the tangles). There was no part of
his body, face or ears that he would not let me touch. This little guy
is going to be one-in-a-million. I am in love with him already and if
I did not have ten of my own horses, he would be a keeper!
Heads up Jumpers and Eventers!! This smart
little chap just cleared a 3'6" fence like a cat! Powerful, clean,
calculated .. he did not come close to touching the fence and landed as
quiet as you please! He did not do this out of naughtiness or fear
..this 6 month old colt jumped it because it was fun!! Watch out world
.. he is going to be something special!
Flame's feet were trimmed on 19 December 2008.
Our farrier informed us that Flame had OUTSTANDING feet! Strong,
correctly conformed. He said this horse could go out and do the most
strenuos jumping, eventing and dressage and probably would not even
need shoes! Stand by for video taking on 19 December 2008 of Flame
working in hand.

Congratulations on the new arrivals! I might be able to help your visitors
see beyond the grungy coats and past the hay bellies to find diamonds in the
rough. Here are some photos of PMU horses that were once in the same rough
shape when they arrived. Take special note of the gelding named "Bayou" --
I believe he is out of the same stallion as your colt "Flame." I'm
hoping these photos will show the hidden potential -- those ragged foals can
and will be wonderful horses some day. They just need a healthy dose of
patience and plenty of TLC! Karen Stallman, Marion, IL

16hh, Flashy Bay Gelding. Lightly Raced in the
past! Make outstanding Event Prospect! For Sale to approved
home with a quiet, confident and experienced rider ONLY!
Xander is a
Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred Gelding. A head-turning
dark bay with chrome! He was born on 25 March 2001. This
horse is in excellent health, he is very sweet, willing,
affectionate and kind. He was pushed to first level dressage
perhaps a little too fast, consequently, this magnificent horse was
emotionally overwhelmed. Thoroughbreds are not warmbloods,
they require more sensitivity and patience when being pushed through
the levels. Because of this anxiety, he has become to be a
little too much horse for his young, 13 year old rider.
This horse floats on air, his
gaits really are outstanding! He is comfortable, too! He is
light, responsive, balanced and willing.
However, the point has now been reached
that we have to think of the future relationship between Xander and
his 13 year old rider who adores him. If she is going be
over-horsed, then we feel it is only fair to both of them to find
them respective partners to bring out the best of their abilities.
This is a devastatingly hard decision for this family - this is why,
at this time, they are looking to sell Xander to an approved home
only.
In
my brief time working with this talented, charismatic and powerful
young horse, I have come to the conclusion that I feel the best home
for this guy would be endurance, lower level eventing, competitive
trail or cross-country. Because of
prior negative experiences in the dressage arena, unless he was with
an outstanding rider who was sensitive and patient, I believe his
mind has been "fried" with regard to the pressure of the show
surroundings. A tense rider and an anxious horse does not make
for a pleasing dressage test! :-)
I
also feel the pressure of stadium jumping (again, lots of
pressure, colorful jumps, loud speakers, horses running around and
the spectators) will also be too much pressure (emotionally)
for this horse initially. I am not saying impossible because
with the right trainer/rider who is sensitive to his anxieties, and
who has formed a trusting relationship with him, I know Xander would
do his best to please.
However,
he has a ton of potential and is very sound. His endurance is
good! I feel that eventing or cross-country (perhaps even
competitive trail riding or endurance riding) might be a great
way to bring out all he has to offer. In a situation where he
is able to stretch out and lose the excess energy without having his
every move "micro-managed" ..for want of a better word! He
would do better where he is not required to meet the stricter requirements of the
USDF/USEF dressage horse as far has higher levels of collection and
more complicated lateral work. The opportunity to just go forward, in his natural
frame .. under a rider who is very quiet, confident and patient with
him, would really be the ideal scenario! I also think that a
person who practices Natural Horsemanship would also bring out the
very best in this boy.
Xander
is pleasure to handle on the ground, as you can see by the young
girls in the photograph. This is not a family looking to get
rid of this horse -- rather, they would prefer to keep him as
a "pet" than let him get into the wrong hands. However, to be
fair to Xander, they are looking to find him a home with somebody who can enjoy him and bring out the best in him!
Xander has been cared for impeccably. He has also received
wonderful training in the past. He is up to date on wormer,
vaccinations, dental and farrier. His coat dapples with health
and he is incredibly striking to look at. He definitely gets
all of the admiring glances!
He comes from outstanding bloodlines, too. He is out of
World Stage, who is out of NORTHERN DANCER and SECRETARIAT.
Racing Royalty!!
Stay tuned for updated videos and photos of this beautiful gelding.
Can transport within state of Florida. $1.75/Mile
SERIOUS ENQUIRIES ONLY. THIS IS A VERY
DIFFICULT DECISION FOR THIS FAMILY. PLEASE NO TIMEWASTERS!
This is not a suitable horse for a novice rider or first time horse
owner.
*** We are
not looking to pay a trainer or rider to bring him along and re-sell
him. Thanks!***

ALLIE
FOR FREE ADOPTION TO APPROVED HOME! Please contact Owner Directly as
"Allie" is not at Horses in Harmony!
 |
HORSE NAME: ALLIE 17.0hh, Bay,
Thoroughbred Mare
13 Years Old
Price: $FREE TO APPROVED, EXPERIENCED AND LOVING HOME
- ADOPTED
The owner of Allie has been forced into an unforseen circumstance
and is reluctantly being forced to seek an outstanding home for her
beautiful mare. Allie was rescued in 2007 and after her
rehabilitation and training, was placed into, what the owner
believed, was a good home. Allie is now back home with her
owner. It is believed that Allie could be a great dressage
prospect! She is flashy with all the chrome, very powerful and
has a great disposition.
Allie would be great for an intermediate to advanced rider.
She is not mean and does not act marish!. She is forward going
with a lot of natural "hind end impulsion". This could be
intimidating for a novice rider. Allie is a sweet mare.
Like most thoroughbreds, she is not an easy keeper. She is very
typical of a thoroughbred as she is tall and lanky. She
currently is on 2 sccops of Senior Feed, twice daily. The
owner is being very honest and upfront regarding Allie's high
nutritional requirements so the new family is under no
misconceptions regarding the cost of feeding this special girl.
The owner describes Allie as "an awesome horse .. and very
sweet"
Unfortunately, the home that Allie had been placed into was
unable to care for Allie as required. Sadly, this has resulted
in Allie not looking as healthy and up to weight as shown in the
pictures. The photos here on the site are of the Allie and her
current owner, one year ago.
Allie is for FREE adoption and will go to her new home with a "NO
SALE" contract! This means if the relationship does not work
out with Allie and her future family, or if the new family is unable
to keep her for any reason .. Allie must be returned to her current
owner at the adoptive family's expense.
For more information, please email the owner directly!
Click
"HERE".
Please, no timewasters! The owner will only adopt Allie
out to a loving, experienced home that understands the
nutritional and emotional needs of a thoroughbred.

BAILEY

HORSE NAME: Bailey Clydesdale x
Thoroughbred Mare
16.2hh, Bay, 5 Years Old
Price: $6,000 (DRASTICALLY REDUCED
FROM $12,000 FOR IMMEDIATE SALE) ..
SOLD
NEW AND NOTABLE: FOR SALE ON BEHALF OF A CLIENT - Please
contact owner directly for more information!
Bailey is a
head-turning Clydesdale x Thoroughbred sport horse. A
beautiful, well-boned mare with a gorgeous temperament! She
began her dressage training in Florida, working easily through her
lateral movements. She was recently sent to Grantville,
Georgia to be introduced to foxhunting training. In addition
to her natural ability as a dressage prospect, Bailey also showed
flair and enthusiasm over the jumps and out in the field. She
is still a young horse and therefore she is obviously still a little
green - but she has the mind and the heart to excel in either
discipline. The owner would love to see Bailey find a loving,
permanent and experienced home where Bailey will be afforded every
opportunity to excel in her chosen career. She can be a little
lazy (as can most draft crosses). This is a VERY reluctant
sale but due to unforeseen circumstances, the owner has been
forced to drastically reduce the price of this stunning, sweet and
talented young mare by 50%. Although Bailey's price has been
lowered drastically by $6,000, the home she ultimately goes to is
absolutely paramount.

THIS HORSE LITERALLY FLOATS ... HE HAS A "10"
MOVEMENT .. CHECK OUT OUR VIDEO DATED 10 AUGUST 2008!
Outstanding prospect for hunters, jumpers or
dressage.
Silver Bump aka "Ghost", 16.2hh, 14 year old
ex-champion racehorse. Winning 21 of his 47 races! This
character who oozes personality, love and unlimited cuteness
once gave his owners and riders recognition, pleasure and
financial gain. Once he started to slow up, he was
discarded. He ended up the hands of the most heartless and
cruel woman in Central Florida. A woman who stuck this
talented horse in her backyard (along with a pregnant mare)
and watched him starve, go thirsty, get too hot or too cold
.. and let him live through his consequential pain. At the
end of the day, this MOTHER (yes folks, she has
children!) would rather put fuel in her Harley and fill
her own expanding stomach with food and beer. This person
also threatened to shoot and kill Ghost to "hide the
evidence" of her abuse. Horrifyingly enough, this disturbed
female is planning on getting another horse for her
daughter. Meanwhile, Ghost has had thousands of dollars
invested into his rehabilitation. We had to take our time
re-introducing feed and grain, we had to spread out his
vaccination and worming program and gently introduce
supplements again. The farrier said that Ghost was in
incredible pain with his feet (in fact, half of his hoof
came off due to an untreated abscess). Ghost cribs (bites
on fence or stall edges and sucks in air). This vice
has developed because it releases endorphins. When he was
starving and in pain, he would crib to disguise the pain and
hunger he was going through. Apart from being an undesirable
vice, the harsh reality is that it has worn his teeth almost
to the gum. We are desperately trying to break him off this
habit, as once his teeth are gone - eating will once again
become a major issue. Please watch the video of the
first day that Ghost arrived at Horses in Harmony - it
documents how we rehabilitated him to full health.
Ghost is now available for adoption. He is fully
rehabilitated and up to weight. We have started lightly
riding him again. He does require a more
confident/intermediate rider. He has super clean legs and a
beautiful, floating trot. Very comfortable to sit to. He
will need to be brought back to fitness slowly. I would
recommend him as a dressage, hunter or trail horse for a
competent rider.
This incredible horse has literally fought back
from death's door - he has been through so much and he owns
the hearts of everybody who knows him, or knows of him. His
new home must be with somebody that will love him, care for
him and have adequate experience to ensure he never suffers
again. References will be required along with an
inspection of his new home.
Ghost is up to date with coggins, vaccinations,
farrier, dental and wormer.

DAKOTA

HORSE
NAME: DAKOTA
Price: $ FREE TO AN EXPERIENCED,
APPROVED, LOVING HOME ONLY - ADOPTED! Lakeland, Florida
*** Due to unforseen circumstances, the owner has been
forced to give away both Dakota and Cheyenne. These horses are
unbroken and Dakota has not been gelded. ***
These horses are not located at Horses in Harmony, nor
have then been evaluated or trained by us. We would recommend
that experienced horse people or trainers ONLY consider taking on
these young horses. Although novices might like the idea of
breaking and training a "project" horse, it must be understood that
this is highly dangerous and that more harm than good can be done if
these horses are trained incorrectly. Fear of a rider is the
main cause of bucking, bolting and rearing. Nobody wants a
dangerous horse that has been poorly trained, and that is why so
many of these horses end up at auctions for slaughter or being
abused. Please novices, if you care for these magnificent
horses - be safe and take on a dead broke, older and safe horse for
your first horse. Thank you so much :-)
Dakota is a 26 month old, 5 colored pinto. His father was a
Tennessee Walker, his mother was a Quater horse, his grandfather was
a Thoroughbred. He is not broke, However he does lunge, trailer
well, halter broke and has a loving gentle spirit and beautiful
markings about him. He is a stud.
They have had their shots and up until just earlier this year,
their hooves were trimmed every 6 weeks.
Must take both horses. They both have good dispositions
and are really sweet.

Cheyenne is a 28 month old bay colored paint. We don't know too
much about him as I bought him from a rescue when he was about 6
months old. He also is not broke, but does lunge, trailer
well, halter broke and beautiful markings. He is quite the ham and
boy can he run and move. I've never seen a horse take corners as
quick and graceful as he does. When he runs his tail hooks up like

16hh Thoroughbred Mare, 11 Years Old. Jockey Club Registered.
The owner does not have the papers and is not willing to assist
with this. Prospective family needs to understand that the
Jockey Club will ask for a certified letter from a previous
owner stating why/how the papers were lost. There will
also be additional fees incurred for registering this mare in
your name. The owner has not given me the lip tattoo, so I
do not know the horse's registered name nor her race history.
She has raced in the past. The current owner got this mare
in December 2007 hoping she would be a good family horse for his
children, but obviously being an OTTB, this horse was completely
unsuitable. The owner also claims that this mare did
barrel racing, despite having a bowed tendon.
She did have a bowed tendon injury when she was 3 years old, but
is apparently in top health now. The owner also claims the
mare has a current negative coggins but she is desperate need of
a farrier.
Reading between the lines, Horses in Harmony would strongly
advise that this horse should only go to a VERY EXPERIENCED,
knowledgeable and permanent home. Preferably somebody who
has experience with OTTBs. It might even be better to
consider this mare as a broodmare, depending upon her
bloodlines. It must be emphasized that Horses in Harmony
has not seen, evaluated nor trained this horse. Absolutely
no guarantee or warranty is implied as the information given to
us will need to be researched and verified by the potential
family.
Eric needs to find a good home for her where she would be
appreciated.
