LIVE IN BARN MANAGER - FILLED ON 21
OCTOBER 2008
Accepting back up
applications!
The position of LIVE IN Barn Manager and Farmhand has
suddenly become available. Ideally, we are looking for a full time
couple.
Our preference is that the barn manager is highly experienced in all
aspects of horse care and can administer injections, know basic equine
first aid, can clip, braid, clean tack, manage staff, be courteous to
clients and is extremely dedicated, committed, honest, reliable,
hard-working and will do what it takes to ensure the happiness and
welfare of all the horses. The partner must be able to carry out
farmhand duties such as bush-hogging, maintaining landscaping, repairing
fences, basic repairs etc. Somebody with computer skills would be
helpful, too, in order to maintain our HorseTrak software.
Must be flexible with hours but the Barn Manager will mainly work from
1pm - 6pm on Mon, Weds, Thurs and Fri. 8am - 6pm on Sat and Sun and will
take Tuesday's off. Farmhand hours are more flexible.
We currently have a very experienced, cheerful and professional groom
working in the mornings and her shift will not be changing.
Beautiful 3/2 home CBS home on the property with all utilities paid.
Prefer non-smokers.
Immediate start.
Please email with your resume outlining specifically your horse
experience, your availability to start and your salary requirement.

Wednesday - 7am - 1pm
Thursday - 7am - 1pm
Friday - 7am - 1pm
Saturday and Sunday - Off
Pay - $272/Week - Paid Weekly (More hours available if needed!)
Prefer local person, non-smoker. MUST be hard-worker, reliable,
self-starter and able to lift up to 70lbs. Working outside - so must be
OK with the heat, humidity and rain!
Lots of "hands on" with the horses (grooming, bathing, medicating,
worming, standing for vet and farrier etc) - so if you are not
comfortable with any of these duties, this may not be the position for
you.

Please email
your resume to DEVON or call

WORKING STUDENT
Our current pay for our grooms is $8.00 per hour.
My lessons for 2008 are at a reduced rate of $35/Lesson. So, for
the equivalent of each 4.5 hours period of work, you will get a dressage
lesson.
Working students must have horse
experience (although not necessarily dressage!), be reliable,
non-smoking, hard-working and cheerful! Work may include grooming,
bathing, stall cleaning, tack cleaning, assisting at shows, video
lessons, photograph our horses at home or shows, clipping, braiding,
generally assisting in any aspect of horse and stable management.
Our farm is friendly, quiet but professionally run. We are
fastidious in the care given to our horses and the cleanliness and
safety of our barn and surrounding areas. Between November 2008 to
May 2009, a lot of time is spent preparing for the competitions,
whether it be spit and polishing horses and tack, loading the horse
tailer with supplies, or exercising and training the horses. We
have some wonderful horses (from babies requiring in-hand training
through to upper level schoolmasters). I only have a maximum of
two openings at this time and each student will be carefully selected!
Please apply via email only with your
goals, your level of experience, any special skills or achievements,
your availability for work and lessons and your age. Please, over
18 only!
