Ride-a-Test Day:

On Sunday 29 November 2008, we hosted a fun Ride-a-Test day at Harmony.  Our riders used this day to insure they had their time management perfected with grooming, braiding and schooling.  Each rider rode really well and they all looked beautiful.  Riders and horses were turned out impeccably.  As always, the first test was the nerve-wracker for the students, but the second test was the better of the two for all riders.  This is because they had those first time butterflies out of the way, they remembered to BREATHE .. and the enjoyment, energy and relaxation shone through.  All students are very excited about the next show!  Great job, all!

Below are some images taken of the riders and their horses!

Results and Photos for Dressage Shows:

6 Dec 08 - Schooling Show at Rocking Horse!  It was a wonderfully successful debut for four of my awesome students!  Despite first time nerves, every single rider was placed!  I am so proud of each horse/rider combination.  They all were so nicely turned out and rode their very best.  The support, camaraderie and positive energy they brought made the event a great experience.  A special thanks goes out to Laura Ohlrich.  Laura (unfortunately) could not show with her cute little horse, Cowboy, this time out. However, she came along to support the other riders and took these really nice photos below.  Laura obviously has a great eye.  If you are interested in purchasing prints from Laura .. you can email her HERE!

Renee placed 5th and 6th in two separate tests, Savannah placed 5th in her test (which was double kudos as it was the first show for Savannah and the very first show for her 6 year old horse, Gibson aka DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH). April also rode a super test and was placed 5th .. and our STAR of the day was Patty who earned a well-deserved FIRST PLACE on her horse, Champ!

Thank you girls (and your horses -Diamond in the Rough, Hoehenflug, Blue Acres Independence, Blue Acres Champion) for making my work so pleasurable with your hard work, determination and great attitude!

Goodbye Landman's Zeus:

On 4 December 2008, my wonderful purebred, registered Doberman Pinscher .. Zeus, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.  Bill and I bought Zeus as a 6 week old puppy in June 2000.  In September 2008, Zeus was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer.  Just under 3 months later, At 8 years old, my precious boy closed his eyes and went to join his brother, Apollo, who also lost his fight to cancer on 4 December 2004. Strangely enough, four years later to the very day.  I pray that  Zeus, Apollo and his "daddy" (my deceased husband, Bill Landman) are happily reunited.  Rest in peace, my beautiful boys.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;

those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,

just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;

they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.

His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

COMING ON SOON...

Hans Harrison, Set Designer at SEAWORLD, Orlando,  is constructing our DRESSAGE MIRRORS for our Regulation Sized Dressage Arena!  We are thrilled - like any dancer or martial artist, it is very difficult for riders to perfect the art of classical dressage without the aid of mirrors.  The mirrors are our best friends.
