Equestrian Center Rules:
Prices are per person. Waivers are required for all riders. Minors must have a responsible adult sign before participating in any riding activity. Riders should arrive at least 20 minutes prior to their lesson and must check in with Devon. ASTM/SEI approved safety helmets are required of all riders. Center will provide approved helmet at no additional charge if rider does not have his or her own. Cancellations must be made at least 4 hours in advance or will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee. No shows will be charged a 100% fee. Rubber riding boots and full chaps are recommended (however, if you do not have breeches, please wear jeans and a boot with a small heel). Refunds are only approved if a documented illness applies and are based on lessons used at current full price, not a prorated price. A $10 per day grounds fee will be charged for horses trailered in for a lesson, unless the rider has a lesson package. |
Please understand that there is a weight limit for each horse. Typically, the maximum weight a horse can carry will be 20-30% of the horse's body weight (provided the horse is in good, physical shape). For example, a 900lb horse can carry a maximum range of 180 - 270lb person.

We are happy to video your lessons for you - this is a great learning
tool for you! Our normal charge is $10 for this service and we
typically ask you to provide a 60 minute blank mini-dvd. If you
are willing to allow us to upload your lesson for other students to
enjoy, then the $10 fee is waived and we will provide the blank DVD.

wasted."
TESTIMONIAL:
Email from Angie Stockman dated 6 January 2008:
I wanted to tell you that when you were getting on Ox and I was leaving, all the girls you gave lessons to were talking and raving about how much they loved dressage. The 1st girl (Carlie, on Sir) was saying
"I thought I was going to hate the lesson today and was dreading it, but when I got up on Sir and Devon was explaining everything, I realized that it might be kind of fun. And then she was such a GREAT teacher I LOVED it! I'm so excited about learning dressage now! I was trying it on the other horse today after the lesson. I loved riding Sir so much, he is such an amazing horse!" And the two other girls were saying
"Yeah I really loved it as well, Devon was great, she really helped me understand what I was doing."
So - there you go!!
Now I'm going to be beating off other students with a stick just to get a few minutes of lesson from you! ;)

OH My Gosh!!! What a great day. I really want to thank you
for creating the video, Devon. It is so helpful to actually see and hear
the lesson again. I'm sure I will have watched it a dozen more times
before next Tuesday but it really helps to clarify what you are saying
and how my position looks. Thank you for your help. Have a wonderful
weekend. I am so excited!
Email from Christine Mitchell dated 28 July

I really enjoyed the lesson on Saturday, and I had a great
ride on my mare that day too, applying everything I learned. I was
pretty amazed that she was able to do a perfectly round 20m circle just
by my vision aid!!
Email from Kellye P dated 2 July 2008:
Just wanted to thank
you for my awesome lesson! I was very sore that night, but only a
little sore the next day. I got to practice on my horse the next day
and lo and behold, I got her to step over in the turns. Now, she didn't
do it right every time, nor did I, but when I got it right, so did
she!! Can't wait for my next lesson. Thanks again.
Email from Alex dated
21 July 2008:
WOW!!! I need to video myself more often. I see a lot of
my mistakes. My dad was very impressed with your teaching, he actually
paid attention.
Email from
Laura DeCloedt dated 18 August 2008:
Thanks again for taking the time to ride Deliaha and
providing pointers on how to handle her, I really appreciated that a
lot.
